Special Session on P2P Media Streaming
Peer-to-peer (P2P) applications have been popular since their inception. Measurement studies shows that Internet traffic is dominated by popular P2P applications, such as BitTorrent and eDonkey. Emerging trends for applying P2P techniques to media streaming services significantly impacts users, content/service providers, and Internet service providers.
This special session is intended to provide a forum for researchers, engineers and practitioners to share their experiences and report state-of-the-art research and development advances on all aspects of P2P media streaming. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
♦ P2P live streaming over wired and wireless network ♦ P2P stored media streaming (P2P VoD) over wired and wireless network ♦ Measurement studies of P2P multimedia systems ♦ P2P system monitoring, management and diagnosis ♦ Security issues in P2P multimedia systems
