At the ComSoc BoG meeting in Seoul (ICC 2005) the committee led by Roberto de Marca presented its
findings and recommendations, including a split of GICC into two separate committees named GIMS and
GITC. The main objective was to improve the infrastructure for the continuous evolution of GC and ICC as
the "oversight" committees of its flagship events.
| GIMS: GLOBECOM/ICC Management and Strategy Committee
The objective of the GIMS committee is to oversee the operational preparation and management and do
strategic planning of these two annual technical conferences on telecommunications research, technology
and applications. GIMS began its work in January, 2006. GIMS is a ComSoc Standing Committee and
reports to the VP-Conferences. More details may be found in the GIMS Charter (updated July 27, 2009).
| GITC: GLOBECOM/ICC Technical Committee
The objective of GITC is to provide strategic vision and manage the technical content of these two annual
technical conferences on telecommunications research, technology and applications. GITC began its work
in September, 2005. GITC is a ComSoc Standing Committee and reports to the VP - Conferences and the
VP - Technical Activities. More details may be found in the GITC Charter (updated January 1, 2008).
