IEEE RFID 2009 CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSION PROPOSALS

The IEEE RFID 2009 Committee invites proposals for the special sessions of the 3rd International IEEE Conference on RFID.  Special sessions provide a forum for attendees to discuss topics of special interest. The 1 ½ hour sessions will be held during the main conference and can be thought of as mini-workshops.

Acceptance Notification                          January 1st
Final Invited Session Program Due           March 13th

Proposal Content

We are soliciting special session proposals in areas related to RFID. Session organizers are expected to be active in the area of their workshop proposal. Workshop proposals should be no longer than 1 page in IEEE conference format.


Workshop proposals should include

  • Name of special session
  • Summary describing the theme(s) of the special  session (not more than 150 words)
  • A description of the session format, activities and goals (e.g., oral presentations, discussion panels, invited talks)
  • Who do the organizers expect will attend the invited session?
  • How do the organizers plan to attract submissions/participants?
  • What is the expected outcome of the invited session?
  • What is the expected agenda for the invited session?


Organizer's responsibilities

  • Organize contributions to the special session, e.g. by inviting positioning papers, by inviting speakers, by organizing panels.
  • Actively run the special session during the IEEE RFID 2009 conference


IEEE RFID 2009 support

  • Announce accepted special sessions
  • Publish agenda/speakers in special sessions in program
  • Provide rooms for the special sessions
