CRFID - The IEEE Technical Committee on RFID                                         New!  IEEE RFID 2010 CFP

From its inception in 2007, the IEEE International Conference on RFID has grown in size and technical importance to the RFID community. In November, 2008, the IEEE Technical Activities Board recognized this growing technical importance through the establishment of a new technical committee called the IEEE Technical Committee on RFID (CRFID). The purpose of CRFID is to provide a focus for the RFID technology across the technical spectrum of IEEE. Member societies and councils with an interest in RFID have selected their volunteer representatives who will have voting privileges on the committee. In addition to society and council representatives, CRFID welcomes participation from IEEE members with an interest in RFID. One of the major responsibilities of the committee is the planning and oversight of the IEEE International Conference on RFID series. CRFID will also foster technical exchange through workshops and technical forums.

CRFID welcomes any IEEE member who would like to become involved in the work of this new RFID community.  Please submit your email address below to join our mailing list and we will keep you posted on our activities.

PRELIMINARY CALL FOR PAPERS


IEEE RFID 2010 is the premier conference in 2010 addressing the fundamental theoretical, technical, and implementation issues related to RF-based identification and communication systems. Visionary keynote presentations, interactive panel discussions, and presentations on the latest RF related advances will bring together the top researchers and practitioners from around the globe.

Authors are invited to submit full 8-page papers in the IEEE conference format presenting new, unpublished research related to the theory and practice of RF-based identification and communication systems. All submissions must describe original work not previously published or currently under review for publication in another conference or journal.  Topic areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

- Antennas & Propagation -
Antenna theory and designs, channel measurements and modeling

- Circuits, Devices & Sensors -
Low-power circuit designs, integrated sensors, energy harvesting, non-silicon-based structures

- Communication Protocols -
Coding, modulation and medium access schemes

Cryptographic protocols and privacy-enhancing techniques

Tools for the design, deployment and evaluation of RFID systems

- RF-based Localization -
Novel system approaches, technologies and algorithms

"RFID middleware", large-scale discovery services

- Policy & Regulatory Issues -
Spectral management, privacy issues, co-existence of RFID systems, social implications of RFID technology

- Deployment Issues & Concerns -
EMC compatibility, tag recycling, issues in patient safety
